Advent 2011: Christ is coming! | Christ United Methodist Church

Sunday, November 27, 2011 the church will begin the season of Advent. A time when we expectantly wait for the birth of Jesus on Christmas day. The season of Advent is an annual, intentional reminder of how we are to live our lives: awaiting with great expectation the return the Christ.

This Advent, Christ United Methodist Church is offering several different opportunities for you to grow in your faith and expectation of Christ's return.

Advent Adventure, a fun-family event where kids can explore Jesus' birth, will be on Saturday, December 3, 2011, from 9-10:30am in the Fellowship Hall. To learn more and signup, please click here
Advent Dinner, this tradition is fun for all ages. We have a community pitch-in (meat provided) starting at 5:00 pm. After dinner, around 6:00 pm, we enjoy the children's Christmas Pageant. If you have questions about the dinner, and would like to reserve your table, please contact Michelle Jordy (michellejordy@gmail.com).
"Follow the Star" Christmas Pageant will be performed on Sunday, December 4, 2011 following the Advent Dinner at around 6pm. Practices will be held on Monday, November 28, 2011 and Thursday, December 1, 2011 at 6:30pm. To signup a child and learn more, please click here.
Children's Christmas Choir will be performing during the Advent Dinner (Dec. 4), at the 11am Sunday morning worship service on December 18, and at the 7pm Christmas Eve service. The choirs are practicing every Sunday till December 18th. If you would like to sign up and child or learn more, please contact Carrie McCool (carrie@christumchurch.org).

Christmas Eve Services will be offered at 5:30, 7 and 11pm. The Children's Christmas Choir will be performing at the 7pm service.
