The “JOURNEY” Class

If you want to join Christ United Methodist Church, start a spiritual walk, or discover new ways of growing in your faith, then come and be a part of a new Sunday School class called “Journey”.

What:  4 classes
When: Sunday mornings, 9:45 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Where: Room 11, west hallway between the lobby & sanctuary

We invite you on a journey.  Our goal is that this journey can lead to a deeper relationship with God.  We believe that is what God desires and longs for.  We can study, pray, learn and experience the nature of God through our history, who we are as a community, our personal spiritual growth, where we are going, and ultimately how this deeper relationship with God will transform our lives.

This four-week journey can lead to membership at Christ Church but that is for you to decide.  It certainly can be a place where you begin to discover or rediscover what it means to be a Christian.

We will explore the history of Christ United Methodist Church and our DNA through our Purpose, our Mission and Vision, our Core Values and our ministries.

What does it mean to be a United Methodist?  We will discover how John Wesley began a movement that helped shape the formation of our country and other countries throughout the world.  Together, we can learn what United Methodist believe and how we uniquely can live together when we don’t agree on what we believe.

What do we need to do to respond to God’s call?  We will offer some suggestions on how we can grow spiritually and how the church provides opportunities to assist you in this process.

Pastor Jim will spend some time with this class each month to help us on our journey.

There will be four classes, starting on September 9, 16, 23, and 30, during the Sunday morning Sunday School time, currently 9:45 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.  Each month thereafter, the classes will be repeated on the first four Sundays of each month.  When you complete the four classes, you are welcome to join Christ Church.
