"Rejoice always. Pray Continually"*

*1 Thessalonians 5:16-17, Common English Bible

Prayer is the communication, spoken or unspoken, that builds the relationship between ourselves and God.

Many of us find prayer difficult.  We often feel inadequate before God and we don't know "what to say."  The good news for us is that often prayer involves as much listening as it does speaking.  Too often, we overcomplicate prayer.  What God really wants is for us to be fully open with God: that's prayer.  In order for us to pray continually, we must be open to God's leading.

For those of us who struggle with prayer, it often helps to be intentional about setting aside time to be with God.  This time of stillness, apart from the busyness of our lives, can then affect the rest of what we do.

Below you will find a number of resources to help you set aside time to be in conversation with God.

Prayers and
Pray-ers NEEDED

In the New Testament, Paul prayed for the new followers of Christ and constantly urged them to pray for one another. Beginning in January the prayer room (in the rear of the sanctuary) will be open for prayer during the 9:45am Sunday service. Prayer request cards will be available and anyone may make a request for prayers for themselves or others. We will also be praying for our church, community, nation and world. We want to expand to the 11am and 8:15am Sunday services, but pray-ers who are willing to spend an hour every month or two are needed. If you are interested and willing, or just want more information please contact Nancy Kildsig (nkildsig@comcast.net).
